The 5th China Mechanical Engineering Education Conference and the 2022 Council Meeting of China Excellent Engineers Education Alliance in Mechanical Industry were held in Jiangsu University. The participating scholars conducted in-depth discussions on such issues as engineering education professional certification, intelligent manufacturing professional construction and talent training, graduation design experience exchange and discussion, and mechanical engineering talent training integration mode of production and education.
With the theme of "Engineering Dreaming, Intelligently Creating the Future", this conference is sponsored by China Excellent Engineer Education Alliance of Mechanical Industry and China Mechanical Engineering Society, and hosted by Jiangsu University, Yangzhou University and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Nearly 12,000 people attended the meeting online.
Since the establishment of China Excellent Engineer Education Alliance in Mechanical Industry, it has been committed to cultivating high-quality engineering and technical talents with strong innovation ability and meeting the needs of industry development and economic and social development, and has taken on the important mission of comprehensively improving the quality of engineering education talents.
Researcher Yuan Shouqi, secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, and Professor Ding Jianning, president of Yangzhou University, delivered speeches on behalf of the organizer respectively, hoping that through this conference alliance, we can further accelerate the deep integration of production and education, give full play to the joint efforts of universities and enterprises, and train more young scientific and technological talents, outstanding engineers, craftsmen from big countries and highly skilled talents.
The conference made a report on the work of the Alliance for 2016-2022, reviewed the Articles of Association and the list of organizations, announced the second vice-chairman unit, chairman and vice-chairman list of the Alliance, held the flag handover ceremony of the rotating vice-chairman unit, read out the winners of the outstanding organization awards of the 4th and 5th Star Cup Graduation Design Competition, and published the scheme of the 6th Fine Carved Cup Graduation Design Competition.
At the conference stage, Jia Zhenyuan, the executive vice president of Dalian University of Technology and academician of China Academy of Sciences, gave a report titled "Cultivation of Non-technical Ability in Engineering Education", which provided ideas and practical ways around how to better cultivate students' non-technical ability in an all-round way. Chen Xuedong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, deputy general manager and chief engineer of SINOMACH, academician of China Academy of Engineering, gave a report titled "Strengthening School-Enterprise Collaborative Innovation and Promoting the Training of Excellent Engineers", shared his experience around the present situation of China's scientific and technological innovation and the "two skins" of science and technology economy, and put forward many useful suggestions for universities and enterprises to strengthen innovation cooperation, the integration of production and education and promote the training of excellent engineers. Professor Zhao Ji, director of the Steering Committee of Mechanical Teaching of the Ministry of Education and former president of Northeastern University, gave a report titled "Thoughts on the Change View of Mechanical Engineering Education", and put forward the reform ideas and corresponding implementation routes of reconstructing mechanical engineering education according to "one main line and two spaces", which made a bold design for the future mechanical engineering education. Mr. Zhang Baoquan, the executive president and professor senior engineer of Beijing Jingdiao Group, gave a report titled "Digital Manufacturing of Jingdiao Helps Training Excellent Workers", and proposed that Jingdiao Group will further integrate its own digital research and development methods and digital talent training experience accumulated in the development process into the talent training system of colleges and universities, and help speed up the construction of digital talent team.
At the conference stage, five sub-meeting places were set up for exchanges and discussions around the seminar of new experts in engineering education certification, the experience exchange of graduation design contest, the construction of intelligent manufacturing specialty and talent evaluation, the construction of integration platform of production and education (modern industrial college) and the seminar of mechanical manufacturing technology course construction.
